“World upside down….feet on the ground”…is the third part of a trilogy which could be called the sense, the essence, of reality. After Récif (Reef) and Tempête (Storm), this new show is concerned with the relationship between “perceptions and realities.” It marks a synthesis of the past ten years of our work: techniques from the street, circus, aerial dance, live music. World tinged with humor, magic…
All that is necessary—is to open one's eyes on the things around us, to shift our point of view, our certitudes, to let ourselves be taken over by the childish feelings which live within us, to break our preconceptions.
All that is necessary….but it is perhaps difficult or dangerous?
This show is an unreal tale which lets us sail into our dreams, our nightmares, our banality, our heroism, which lets us see amusing bears floating in the air, people living the joys of daily life and appearances, pregnancies being painted, women free to walk upside down, men experimenting with earth and air comings and goings through their bodies and their voices. A gentle humanity, which walks with its “feet on the ground.” Floating through a climate, an atmosphere, sensations rather than relying upon linear connections, the substance of this show gives it a universal dimension.
The central scenic device made up of four metallic towers linked by four transparent canvases serves as the connection: the spectators being seated around this structure, each of them is therefore able to see a fragment of what is being shown, and depending on where they are seated, the reality of the tale appears to each one in its diversity.
